History
The Barracuda Bar was born in Hackney, London, in 2001. It was created by BONE metal sculptures, a company founded in 1995 that builds functional metal sculptures for clients all over Europe. Other examples of their work include life size DJ and pole dancing robots! These creations have appeared most recently at Glastonbury Festival 2007.
I bought the Barracuda Bar in the spring of 2006 and towed it to the south of Spain where it was revamped (see gallery). The fish then swam back across the channel in the summer to appear at The Glade Festival, The Lovebox Festival in Hackney, and The Electric Picnic, in Ireland.
The Barracuda will be swimming across the Irish Sea once again for the 2007 Electric Picnic, in Stranbally, due west of Dublin. Come and check it out! Look for us in the Catalyst Area where there will also be interactive sculptures and other strange happenings!
